In the new commercial for Otsuka Pharmaceutical’s “Body Maintain” featuring actors Mugi Kadowaki and Nozomi Tomita, they play the roles of a doujinshi artist and a fan challenging Comiket. The theme is “Maintenance is love.” The commercial depicts their struggles from preparation to the day of the event, with filming also taking place at Tokyo Big Sight. The song “Geki! Teikoku Kagekidan” is used to enhance the atmosphere of the commercial.

■Shooting episode Ms. Kadowaki, who plays a woman with two faces, working as a company employee and also exhibiting at Comiket. The most challenging part for Ms. Kadowaki was said to be the scenes where she is drawing. She mentioned that it was difficult to naturally express the touch of the drawings. While experiencing busy days and chasing deadlines, she gradually showed a stern facial expression, and we would like to draw attention to her outstanding acting skills in portraying the mixed feelings of anticipation and anxiety on the day of Comiket. On the other hand, Mr. Tomita, who plays a staff member at Comiket, is a fan of the writer played by Ms. Kadowaki. In a scene where he raises his voice to direct participants at Tokyo Big Sight, his appearance was just like the actual event day, and onlookers not involved in the filming even thought they were watching a rehearsal for Comiket. The moment the cut was made during his splendid performance, the staff erupted into applause all at once.
