Mr. Okada, who has appeared in numerous McDonald’s TV commercials including “Morning Mac,” is making his first appearance in the TV commercial for the “Double Cheese Burger.” Being a hugely popular classic menu item, he feels some pressure, saying, “There is pressure because everyone knows ‘Dubuchi’ (laughs).” He appears slightly nervous. The new commercial consists of long monologues by Mr. Okada alone and is recorded in one take without editing, adding even more pressure. Nevertheless, he shows a relaxed smile, hinting at his veteran actor’s composure, saying, “I’ve been doing this for 30 years (laughs),” and stands by in front of the camera.
