Shari Ito starring in a new commercial series for a credit union titled “So, that’s what a credit union is.” will begin airing on October 1st.

The National Shinkin Banks Association of Japan, a general incorporated association, will start broadcasting a new TV commercial series featuring actress Sari Ito, titled “Shinkin Kinko-tte, So nanda.” nationwide from October 1, 2024. In the commercial, Sari Ito introduces the charm of Shinkin Banks as local financial institutions in a friendly manner, and conveys the role of Shinkin Banks through comical acting.

“The thing about credit unions is, ‘What is a credit union, anyway?'”

version (30 seconds) Mr. Ito, who moved to a certain town, finds himself in front of a credit union building while exploring the shopping street. Not knowing much about credit unions, Mr. Ito starts imagining a luxurious shiny vault, but is interrupted by a voice saying, “Yes!” bringing him back to reality. At the credit union counter, Credit-san explains, “Credit unions are financial institutions for everyone in the town!” Mr. Ito seems to understand with an “Ah,” but then leans in and eagerly listens for more detailed explanations from Credit-san. Narration saying, “We assist in making your dreams come true and developing the community. That’s what a credit union is,” accompanies Mr. Ito as he leaves the credit union, satisfied after opening an account. As he looks back, Credit-san bows politely, and Mr. Ito mutters to himself, “Feels like I’ve become a part of this town’s community.” Later, at the grocery store in the shopping street, Mr. Ito buys croquettes and glances back at the credit union, witnessing Credit-san still seeing him off. He murmurs, “How thoughtful…”

version (30 seconds) At Mr. Ito’s workplace, a publishing house, he encounters Credit-san having a meeting with the company president in the reception room. He recalls seeing the same Credit-san in various places like the shopping street and grandma’s house earlier that morning. Entering the reception room, Mr. Ito asks, “Wait, could it be that you have triplets, Credit-san!?” but Credit-san, replying, “I’m an only child,” doesn’t convince Mr. Ito, who still looks doubtful. The president explains, “Well, Credit-san is a consultant for everyone in the town.” With that, Mr. Ito pushes aside the president and tries to get Credit-san to listen to his concerns as well. With the narration saying, “You can consult about anything, from personal loans to business matters,” in the background, Mr. Ito is engaged in a lively discussion with Credit-san. After the consultation, a cheerful Mr. Ito walks through the shopping street and waves goodbye to Credit-san, parting with a smile.
