Suntory’s “Craft Boss” new commercial “Alien Jones Idol” version will be aired nationwide starting from September 16, 2024. The commercial features Hollywood actor Tommy Lee Jones as the alien Jones, along with actors Koji Yakusho, Ryunosuke Kamiki, and Yuumi Kawai. Kawai plays the role of a rookie idol “Yuumi” and covers the famous 1985 song “Nante tatte Idol”, delivering an impressive performance on stage.

Kawai’s overwhelming presence stands out even in flashy concerts
Before the concert scene filming, Kawai arrived on set looking somewhat nervous. Even after being guided to the stage by staff, it is said that she was still feeling anxious to the point of muttering “What should I do” in her mind. However, as soon as the intro started playing and the cameras, LED lights, band members, and fans all switched into performance mode, her expression immediately changed, transitioning from the real Kawai Yumi to the idol “Yuumi.” From the first take, she showed a confident singing performance that belied the tension from moments ago, already captivating the audience in a frenzy of excitement.
