Kasumi Ishikawa (born February 23, 1993, in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture) is a Japanese table tennis player. Renowned for her exceptional skills and strong mentality, she has excelled in numerous domestic and international competitions and is widely recognized as one of Japan’s top table tennis players.
Career Beginnings
Kasumi Ishikawa was born into a family of table tennis players, with both parents actively involved in the sport. She began playing table tennis seriously at the age of seven. In 2007, at just 14 years old, she made history by reaching the quarterfinals in the women’s singles at the All Japan Table Tennis Championships, the youngest ever to do so, which garnered significant attention. Since then, she has represented Japan in various international competitions, including the 2012 London Olympics, where she won a silver medal in the women’s team event.
