**Matsushita Kouhei** is a Japanese actor and singer-songwriter born on March 6, 1987 in Hachioji, Tokyo. He is currently affiliated with Cube and his music label is JVC Kenwood Victor Entertainment’s Victor Entertainment.
History and career
Musical activities
Matsushita Kohei began his career as a singer-songwriter under the name “Kouhei” in 2008. In the same year, he released digital-only singles for three consecutive months, and in November made his CD debut with the single “STAND UP!”. He then sang the ending song “Good Morning, Good Night” for the children’s program “Be Ponkikki”.
Actor activities
He made his stage debut in BROADWAY MUSICAL’s “GLORY DAYS” in 2009, and then began his career as an actor in earnest. He has attracted attention in TV dramas such as “Scarlet” (2019), “Saiai” (2021), and “Atom’s Child” (2022). He has also appeared in the films “Moeyo Ken” (2021) and “Hyouka: Don’t Call It Mystery” (2023).

Matsushita Kohei won the Newcomer Award at the 73rd Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival for his performance in the 2018 stage play ‘Living with My Mother’. He also won the Outstanding Actor Award and the Haruko Sugimura Award at the 26th Yomiuri Theater Awards for his performances in the play and “Thrill Me”.
